Since its foundation in 1998, Biolytix has created several mainstays. Biolytix is financially independent and is privately owned. Biolytix’s clientele is international and can be found in diverse industries. Biolytix has established a very strict quality management system and is accredited according to ISO 17025 since 2004(Biolytix ISO 17025 certificate), with a wide scope(scope Biolytix 2019-2024) . In addition, Biolytix can perform orders according to FDA guidelines.

History

1998: The foundation is laid.

Biolytix AG is founded by Christoph Keigel, Oreste Ghisalba, Serge Kocher and Adrian Härri.

1999: A significant year for Biolytix.

We sign a long-term contract with a major international tobacco company and witness the introduction of mandatory declaration of GMOs in Switzerland.

2001: A milestone in our financial history.

2004: Quality is a top priority for us.

This year marks our accreditation according to DIN EN ISO 17025.

2007: Our expertise is recognized internationally.

We enter into a service agreement with Affymetrix UK Ltd.

2009: A decade of success!

Biolytix celebrates its 10th anniversary.

2019: Two decades at the forefront of biomolecular analysis.

We celebrate our 20th anniversary

2020: In challenging times, we are at the forefront.

As a partner laboratory of the Canton of Basel-Landschaft, we are involved in repetitive covid monitoring.

2023: A new chapter begins.

We are moving to Dittingen and welcome our new CEO, Marco Ferraro.

Swiss Biotech Association (SBA): This membership enables us to remain at the forefront of biotechnological innovation in Switzerland and to exchange ideas with leading experts in the industry.
Swiss Testing Labs (STL): This membership keeps us informed about the latest developments and standards in the areas of testing procedures and laboratory technologies.
Swiss Society for Microbiology (SGM): This membership allows us to deepen our knowledge of microbiology and exchange ideas with colleagues.
AK PCR-Analytik – Association of German Agricultural Testing and Research Institutes (VDLUFA): This keeps us up to date with the latest developments in PCR analysis and enables us to participate in important discussions and developments.
ERFA groups for various specialized areas: These include Food Microbiology (ERFA Microbiology), GMO Analyses (ERFA GMO), Animal and Plant Species Identification (ERFA Species Identification) and Allergen Detection (ERFA Allergens). These memberships allow us to deepen and share specialized knowledge in these key areas.

Research and development projects

Biolytix is also involved in research and development projects such as Swiss CTI (Commission for Technology and Innovation) and EU projects (TRACE, Co-Extra, Decathlon). We are also active in mentoring undergraduate students and post-docs from various universities, which underlines our commitment to nurturing the next generation of scientists and sharing our knowledge and experience.
