What does a “halal” seal say?
The term “halal” means “pure” and “permitted” in Islam. It is also used in the Codex Alimentarius, the international collection of standards for food safety and product quality of the United Nations (FAO/WHO). This Codex contains internationally valid food standards to protect the health of consumers and to coordinate fair trade in food at an international level.
In Islam, products are considered “non-halal” or “haram” if the livestock farming, feeding or slaughtering of the animals was not “halal” compliant.
Furthermore, to be labeled as “halal”, the product must not contain any material of animal origin, such as pork or ethanol, or have come into contact with the product during production, in addition to other requirements.
Halal certification is therefore not only based on the ingredients (e.g. no alcohol and no pork ingredients) or special requirements for slaughtering, the certification also checks compliance with halal regulations in the production process.

As part of the halal certification process, an initial assessment of the products and processes was carried out. The auditors evaluate current practices and identify all areas where adjustments are required to meet halal standards.
An inspection was then carried out as part of an audit to ensure that our laboratory, including all necessary laboratory processes, complies with halal requirements.
After successfully completing the auditing process, we were awarded the prestigious Halal certification with the corresponding logo.
With our highly sensitive molecular biological and biochemical analyses, our laboratory fulfils a special task in the extensive testing required to assess a product as halal and offers this service to all interested customers.
