Gene Expression
In recent times the study of gene expression has acquired an important role in understanding the impact of therapeutic intervention of a certain gene or gene function and thereby the drug development process can be shortened quite significantly. The quantification of gene expression allows efficient and precise analysis of target RNA levels in biological samples. In basic research the study of gene expression provides a powerful tool to address complex biological questions.

Biolytix offers precise and reproducible expression analysis of single genes as well as complex groups of genes and gene families. We also offer the interpretation of the results, so that an overview of the levels of gene activity and interesting information about gene regulation (up- or down regulation) can be obtained.

Gene expression analyses are performed in material grown in cell cultures and biopsy samples of different tissues of plants, animals or humans. Of course, we can also analyze directly your RNA or cDNA samples.

The total RNA is first extracted and purified using the best commercially available kits and/or in-house modified methods, before quantification is performed by real-time PCR or by Affymetrix GeneChip^® Arrays
